Health Checkup Tests for Senior Citizens

For 31 years, The Telegraph School Awards for Excellence has celebrated not just academic achievement, but the courage, resilience and determination that shape young lives. In 2026, the prestigious awards returned with the International Institute of Hotel Management as the presenting partner, continuing a long-standing association that places education, empathy and opportunity at the heart of the celebration. The 31st edition has touched the lives of more than 50,000 students over the years and continues to bring schools and communities together.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the presence of Dr Suborno Bose, Founder and Chairman, IIHM, who presented the IIHM Awards for Excellence in Academics to four deserving schools in and around Kolkata.

Addressing the students, Dr Bose offered a powerful perspective on the meaning of education. He reminded young minds that while school teaches literacy and academic knowledge, occasions such as the School Awards offer something deeper—the education of life.

He spoke about students and individuals who have faced odds and turbulence but refused to surrender, emphasizing that the courage to rise again is a greater achievement than simply securing perfect marks in board examinations. Academic excellence matters, he said, but courage, resilience and character ultimately define a personal journey.

The 2026 IIHM Awards for Excellence in Academics recognised the following schools:

  • CBSE Board – Joint Winners: Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Kolkata and Shri Shikshayatan School, Kolkata
  • ICSE/ISC Board: St Xaviers Institution, Panihati
  • Madhyamik Board: Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia

For IIHM, the association with The Telegraph School Awards reflects its larger philosophy of education—one that goes beyond classrooms and examinations to nurture character, compassion and leadership. IIHM has been associated with the awards for decades, with its 2025 edition marking the 30th year of the partnership.

As Dr Bose reminded the young audience, everyone may leave the hall with an award, certificate or memory—but they also leave wiser about what it truly means to learn, persevere and win at life.
