Hotel Management courses are offered in many colleges in India. If you’re looking to pursue Hotel Management after 12th, then you have the choice to pursue an undergraduate course (UG) or postgraduate (PG) programme in the same field. The Entrance Exams are directed at the national level and state level by different bodies and universities.

Every year, a number of hospitality-related jobs are introduced and these jobs are offered by Indian firms as well as international hotel chains. Thus, making Hospitality Management a prolific field to make a career in. Below are details of top Hotel Management Entrance Exams like NCHMCT, JEE, AIHMCT, and e-Chat that every 12th standard student must know about.

  • NCHMCT JEE : One of the most famous Hotel Management Entrance Exams is NCHMCT JEE (National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Exam). The exam is usually scheduled in the month of April and offers admittance to the hospitality and hotel administration programs in Government colleges.
  • IIHM eCHAT : eChat by IIHM (International Institute of Hotel Management) is one of the most esteemed examinations. With 8 campuses in India and 1 in Bangkok, IIHM is the largest private chain in hospitality education. Even in these unprecedented times, they have done an excellent job by conducting regular online classes. eChat stands for Electronic Common Hospitality Admission Test which is based on the state of the art web technology and web solutions. The exams will be conducted in the month of June this year, and due to the current situation, the applicants can now take the test from the comfort of their home.
  • AIMA UGAT : AIMA UGAT (Undergraduate Aptitude Test) is conducted by All India Management Association usually in the month of May every year. The exam is conducted with the essential purpose to grant admission in the hotel management courses. The applicant must have passed HSC (Higher Secondary School) from a recognized board in order to apply for AIMA UGAT.
  • AIHMCT WAT : AIHMCT WAT is conducted by Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in the month of April every year. The exam aims at granting admission to the meriting candidates in numerous hotel management courses, thus making it significant. The questions are objective in nature and the exam comprises of four sections.

Apart from these primary entrance tests, there are numerous other tests conducted by different hospitality institutions. Additionally, aspirants can pursue certificate and diploma programmes in Hospitality Management which include Diploma in Hotel Management, Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Diploma in Hospitality Management, Diploma in Housekeeping, Diploma in Aviation Hospitality and Travel Management.
